She self-identifies as a lesbian, but maintains her attraction to Sherlock. She flirts jokingly with men like John and Mycroft to prove her dominance over them. Alder can be cold and calculating one minute hot and heavy the next. As a dominatrix, she enjoys BDSM activities and is not ashamed to reference these in conversation. She has significant connections in the criminal underworld, including hiring Moriarty to help her get the most use out of her leverage.Įven Sherlock and Mycroft admires her ingenuity. She compiles these on a cameraphone with which she plans to extort the British government. She uses her profession to gain insight into the top secret activities of individuals and governments. John hears it and figures out that Adler is still alive and correctly guesses that it's Sherlock's birthday and that that's why Adler sent the text.Īdler is scheming and manipulative. Whilst John is watching Sherlock at the end of "The Lying Detective", Sherlock receives a text message with the distinctive Adler alert sound. The executioner is revealed to be Sherlock in disguise and the two battle their way out, presumably successfully.Īdler next appears in "The Sign of Three" as a figment of Sherlock's mind palace whilst he is attempting to solve the Mayfly man case. We then hear the distinctive text message alert that denotes a text message from Adler to Sherlock (she set his phone to play a recording of her earlier in the episode) coming from behind her. She is presumed dead, with the only information on her given by Mycroft Holmes, mentioning that she was captured by a terror cell and beheaded.Ī flash back at the end of the episode shows that when she was about to be executed by the terrorist, she sent a goodbye text message to Sherlock. She is using them, and other information on her mobile phone, for her 'protection'. Irene had taken compromising images of a young female member of the British Royal family during a dominatrix session.Įven though Irene does not want money or power for the pictures, Sherlock is tasked in getting them back. She is brought to Sherlock's attention when he and John are summoned to Buckingham Palace by Mycroft and are asked to take on a case of national importance. She has been in the middle of two political scandals in recent years, one of them involving a famous author, in which she had an affair with both sides. Whilst Mycroft is telling Sherlock about Irene, he states that she is a dominatrix who gives out 'recreational scolding' to people. Irene Adler, professionally known as " The Woman", was a celebrity dominatrix and extortionist who had a brief attraction to Sherlock Holmes. They are listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and need our help to restore their numbers. Improvements in camera-capture technology in the past decade have made a big difference. Their conservation is a challenge – snow leopards don’t make it easy! This is a story of POWER and LOVE and FAITHFULNESS This is a story that doesn’t end with death. (pictures of this wonderful man at the bottom of this post.) I wish so deeply that I could go back a year and look into his eyes and shake his shoulders and help him understand, make him understand. 85 years that he could have met his Savior. He lived a long life-he was 85 when he died. He hung them up in his house, and his family displayed them at his funeral. We took a few pictures together, and I brought them back to him each time I visited. I attended his 85th Birthday Bash (village style, of course). He killed one of his sheep and prepared a dinner in my honor. He asked if I would marry his son or his grandson. He had me over to his home, and always sent me away with an overflowing bag of nuts and lemons. He was a shepherd and sought me out every time I was visiting. Today I learned that an old man I befriended in a village that I visited many times in the two years I lived here passed away this winter.I don't even know where it's coming from, but it's filled with sorrow and pain and all I want is to find that person and hold them and cry with them. An hour ago, I could hear one of my neighbors hitting his wife. It's been hard falling asleep at night.I'm weeping even as I type this, because I know her heart is hardened toward these tiny babies whose lives are being ended as she watches. When she's lucky, she says, she gets to assist. She wants to specialize in gynecology, and spends 3 afternoons a week volunteering at a local clinic, where, for hours, she watches abortion after abortion after abortion. One in particular has decided to begin studying on the track that will bring her to medical school (she's currently 15). It's been hard hearing about the life choices my students are making.Their pain is palpable and rips at my heart and I have spent hours on my knees asking for His mercy on them. Two of them are not, and the third just lost a pregnancy, her first ever after 3 years of marriage, after 9 weeks. It's been hard hugging three of my coworkers who have been hoping beyond hope to become pregnant.I grabbed my bags and boogied right out of there. He didn't talk to me for the rest of the flight, but did give me a thumbs up and a wink at the baggage claim. Since I had a pretty good feeling that we would, in fact, land safely, I redirected that invitation quickly-maybe if we land safely, you should go celebrate with your WIFE! Point made. We each had a few languages up our sleeves, and found one we had in common…I promised him that the plane would stay in the air, and he promised to take me out for dinner if we landed safely. He white-knucked his armrests and whimpered and closed his eyes and whispered inaudible pleas to who even knows through our entire take-off, and repeated this routine at every little bump or drop or turn. Why? Because I have never, EVER met someone more terrified to be on an airplane. I slept for a good part of this flight, but while I was awake, I couldn't help but stare at Ali. ![]() is exhausting.įlight #3: Frankfurt to Far Away: I shared a row with a guy named Ali-we had an open seat between us. Though I chose not to participate in the motions she was leading, I did bow my head with them, though the G I was calling on was not the gd of the Qu-ran, but the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, my Father and their Father. But really, that meant that the Mullah showed up at 5pm, and then chanted from the Qu-ran for two hours, calling on the names of Mhmmd and A||h, while leading everyone there in physical room-cleansing and soul-cleansing motions. Most businesses after a year in developing an idea would scrap it if it was not functioning correctly on order to stop wasting money, rather than persist in releasing something that could damage their product further. Sorry to say if I can't make it work then a lot of people are not going to make it work as I am not that literate with the viewer and btw the settings I took came via the program from the library folder you use to import them from, in short the process was an epic fail and another example of SL's decision making chain to release these concepts before a proper evaluation of their likely effects would be.Īshagain spoke about the fact that after a year in development the concept of EEP does not seem to work as SL would hope it to, that tells you a lot about how SL's ability to develop the platform seems to be stalling. Gotta read the official blog and the forums more often :D. Most folks haven't been in love with EEP for years now, so this isn't really new news. Check the other older thread on this for more info if you care. AND you can get all the old Windlight settings (a TON) that haven't been added to the viewer (there are plenty moved over for you) on the Marketplace. ![]() They did announce long ago and there were and are instructions in the knowledge base to on how to move over your personal Windlight settings (this of course before you changed to the new EEP viewer). May I remind FS that I am the ultimate user of the program and if there comes a point where FS does things I am unable to remedy by wanting to set up the program to work for me, then I will consider whether or not my time in SL is ending.Ī but harsh, but today has been a waste of time trying to sort out an issue that SL should have had the guts to announce in that they were going to terminate a lot of the older windlight settings, I personally also don't like the registry keys grab by FS as I also use Singularity as it still allows XML export for character tests something that FS has stopped supporting. So if i closed out the Fixed Enviroment window in Environment everything just went black, if I didn't leave it minimised as I jumped from sim to sim everything went black. I did it, set up the environment folder in my inventory copied in the two settings I use for water and light and every time I changed sim they reverted back to sim setting.Īnd yes I did go into FS preferences and change it to persist seesion sttings and also put a 3.5 second transition time in. The process for moving to your own fixed environment settings for me has completely and utterly flopped! I don't care about all the talk over how good the latest version of FS is, the fact that I have used FS for god knows how many years and kept the same windlight settings has been a godsend when I have moved from release to release. ![]() Options to the server using the command line. * Thomas Klausner : fixed Makefile for FreeBSD * Joan Dolc : helped with Mac OS/X port * 666-REFIZUL-666 : created many maps (distributed * Dave Vasilevsky : fixed the Mac OS X port. * Peter Williams : fixed the "too many opened * Michael Wagner : translated the web site in German. * David Redick : wrote an external random map generator,Īvailable on * Alexandre Pineau : maintains the Debian package.
